Thomas B. Dewey, not to be confused with the politician Thomas E. Dewey (“Dewey wins”), wrote crime fiction from 1947 through 1970, a period of some 24 years. He wrote three series. This included the seventeen-volume Mac Series about a hardboiled detective. It included the Peter Schofield series also about a detective, but one who was a little more softboiled, and whose investigations were often interrupted by the light-hearted banter between Pete and his red-haired sexy wife, Jeannie. Finally, there were four Singer Batts novels and at least five standalones. A biography and analysis of his work can be found at the killercoversoftheweek blog.
